Air Pollution Products & Systems uses the Millennium award winning Surfactant Induced Absorption Technology product, (SIAT), in the further development of its odour and air pollution control technology.
A leading Water Company had major odour problems while moving and spreading sewage sludge at numerous remote locations, which were causing nuisance complaints.
As a result of this, a completely mobile odour control system was designed to go where the smells are, this system can operate from 10 nozzles to 80 nozzles providing a linear odour barrier of up to 500 metres long. This is one of several different types of odour control system supplied by APPS.
The Mobile Odour Control Unit is a trailer-mounted system capable of being deployed at a remote problem location and gives up to 48 hours odour control operations, independent of utilities. The Independent Mobile Odour Control Unit is capable of being delivered and deployed by a single person.
The trailer can also be directly connected to site air and water supplies, if available. A delayed switch off capability tackles decaying odours after work has ceased and saves continuous operation. The Mobile Unit can be deployed by one man and be operational in about one hour.
Automatic dosing system for Airborne10 surfactant is adjustable from 0.25% - 1% strength depending on odours, supplied from the on board chemical storage.
Two air-operated water pumps in parallel supplied from a 1000 litre tank of potable water, refillable by bulk head connectors via access panel on trailer side. Also capability of directly connecting the pumps to potable water supplies via a non-return valve.
120 cfm diesel engine compressor delivering 7 bar via 350 litre receiver, supplying compressed air to nozzles, driving two water pumps, and the air driven replenishment systems. Direct connection can also be made to utilise site air, if available.
Surfactant Induced Absorption Technology is recognised by the Water Research Centre (WRC) for controlling sewage odours, and by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as being an efficient and effective solution to odour control with costs up to 90% less than other technologies.
The package can include a one-day course for up to 4 people. The course would cover the Surfactant Induced Absorption Technology, the safe loading and towing of the trailer, deployment of the system to maximise effectiveness, replenishment, routine maintenance, re-ordering and servicing.
