For the Bioaugmentation of Treatment & Collection Systems

Bio Treat 2000 has been formulated for use in water treatment plants, collection systems, pumping stations and fat traps to break down organic solids, reducing odour and corrosion.

Composition

Bio Treat 2000 is a blend of surfactant, enzymes, non-harmful bacteria and nutrient salts. Primary enzymes include amylase, glucanase and poteinase. The product contains a minimum of 107 per gram.

Prevents Foul Odours & Corrosion

As can be imagined, the water in a sewage system contains many different bacteria and fungi spores, it also contains many complex organic products, which need to be degraded into simple compounds before disposal. As some micro organisms reproduce they produce hydrogen sulphide, which has a strong unpleasant odour. Some others like Thiobacillus Neopolitanus, Intermedius and Thiooxidans (concretivorous) reduce P.H. to 1 or 0 (their proffered range) by converting the hydrogen sulphide to sulphuric acid.

The enzymes present in Bio Treat 2000 will immediately start to break down the organic matter. The reaction product, together with the nutrient salts in Bio Treat 2000 create a perfect medium for the growth of the bacteria in bio treat. These organisms will secrete additional enzymes capable of attacking proteins, carbohydrates and fats. The use of surfactant to hydrolyse the hydrophobic components greatly speeds up the degradation process. By ensuring that the conditions are right for the bacteria in Bio Treat 2000 the undesirable bacteria are put at a disadvantage and this will inhibit their growth.

Safe to Use

The micro organisms used in this product are naturally occurring, beneficial, harmless and non-hazardous. It does not contain any pathogens.

How to use in Pumping Stations

  • Determine period with minimum flow in a week and therefore maximum time period when pump is switched off. This will give the greatest contact time for Bio Treat 2000 to work
  • Pump out sump just prior to spraying
  • Spray walls evenly ensuring maximum coverage

1 Million Gallon per day Pumping Station

INITIAL DOSEAGE – Daily for the first week or until the system is clean, premix 1 kilo of Bio Treat 2000 in 10 litres of clean water, in a clean container.

Stir well and leave for 1 hour up to a maximum of 24 hours (often overnight is best).

Spray walls evenly ensuring maximum coverage.

WEEKLY – MONTHLY as determined by the local conditions 0.5 kilo of Bio Treat 2000 in 10 litres of clean water and container. Stir well and leave as before. Spray walls evenly ensuring maximum coverage.

MIXING WITH OTHER CHEMICALS WILL REDUCE THE EFFICIENCY AND IS NOT RECCOMMENDED

The optimum P.H. is between 5.0 – 7.5 and the temperature up to 40oC. High concentrations of heavy metals will inhibit the activity of the system. As will the presence of chlorine, to achieve best results neutralisation of these inhibitors is necessary before the application of Bio Treat 2000.
